Singing bowls (Sound Therapy): for Healing and Self-discovery

We are surrounded by energy and our Mother Earth has it’s own signature frequency which is often referred to as Schumann’s Resonance which is 7.83 Hz. Many experiments have been conducted on the human bodies and there is empirical evidence that our body has a whole also resonates at a frequency and our individual organs  also have their unique frequencies. It is no wonder that sounds can affect us at the deepest level of our essence.

I have been conducting singing bowl sound meditations for over 2 years and the responses of the participants have been both diverse and very varied. I have seen people get into an almost catatonic state while the meditation is going on and on waking up they were serene, calm and uplifted. We also have had participants go back feeling uneasy and a bit agitated, and they had a diametrically opposite effect the next time. It was almost as if the sound brought up  unresolved issues and which got dealt with once they were out in the open. Over the years, several studies have been conducted to explore the effects of singing bowl sound meditation on mood, tension, and well-being. There is no consensus on the  reasons behind the positive effects of singing bowl sound healings are not fully understood. Possible explanations include alterations in brain waves, binaural beats, and the vibrations of singing bowls interacting with the energy field surrounding the human body, known as the biofield.

As our body is made of about 60% water, sound vibrations from the singing bowls generate patterns at certain frequency thereby inducing a deep meditative and peaceful state of mind. This type of therapy has a type of energy that can reduce stress, pain, depression, and other forms of mental pressure. The vibrational harmonics help the brain synchronize at that frequency thereby relaxing your breathing and heart rate.
