A Night to Remember at the Bulgarian Embassy

DCWA hosted a spectacular fundraising dinner at the beautiful Bulgarian Embassy, graciously hosted by H.E. Dr. Nikolay and Vili Yankov. The event was attended by over 300 guests, and its success was a testament to the tireless fundraiser team at the association.

At DCWA, the mission has been to empower those in need through its DCWA Medical Centre. They strive for the betterment of society by providing vocational training, education, and healthcare to those in need. Through these initiatives, its aim is to make a positive impact and create a brighter future for those we serve.

The evening was great fun, with a purpose, as guests enjoyed a fun-filled photo booth, capturing memories of the night, thrilling dance performance, lively music that kept everyone on their toes, a designer fashion show; delicious food and drinks added to the festive atmosphere. The event was designed to create awareness about DCWA’s mission and raise vital funds for their ongoing programmes.

The evening featured an eclectic dance performance by Freya Mahima Krishnan, a stunning fashion show by renowned designer Suket Dhir, and an art exhibition by Art & Beyond. The evening concluded with a raffle draw and bidding for exclusive prizes. As a token of appreciation, Priyasa provided return gifts to all guests.

Of special mention must be the charm and poise of the MC, Shivani Wazir Pasrich, who did her typical immaculate commentary and guided the fashion show and other high events of the evening.

The credit of the evening’s success must go to the diplomatic community, friends, and DCWA members who participated in the event. Indeed, the DCWA team must be commended for their hard work and dedication.

Put together by Sunitee Abbi, Chairman DWCA and Rosie Rameet Sahni, Chair, Fundraising and the Fundraising Team, was an evening to remember.

The curator of the fashion show, Suket Dhir, has been a wanderer at heart, continues to travel places to give fibre his very own definition. His style is contemporary with an Indian soul. He has been on the cover of The Economist’ and the front page of the “New York Times’, American Vogue alludes to him as “a global fashion superstar in the making”. His ensemble for Nobel Laureate (2019) Abhijeet Bannerjee’s prize acceptance ceremony has been selected for permanent display at the Nobel Museum.
