About Us

Cross Section Media has been in publishing for over 50 years. We started with Cross-Section, as a current affairs publication and soon thereafter, with Destination India, a tourism specific publication.

Over the years, we diversified into other titles like CityScan, India Debates, Travel Trends and India Global. These have been since discontinued.

We also launched India’s first ever travel mart, SATTE, which we ran for over 18 years before exiting from that show. During our innings, we hosted 4500+ international tour operators from over 50 countries and made SATTE as the biggest travel show at that time in this part of the world.

Presently, we run BITB Conclaves as a travel, tourism and hospitality vertical, bringing senior industry leadership to share ideas on trends in travel. BITB has run 21 editions.

We also publish Destination India Tourism Exchange (DITE), which joins the dots between various verticals in the larger tourism product of India, explores the potential of tourism as a soft power with our neighbours and the world at large.

We also publish Cross Section Conversations (CS) as a web driven magazine on contemporary issues and concerns.

Both DITE and CS Conversations are essentially digital publications with limited print distribution.

We continue our engagement as a serious endeavour for advocacy of tourism. We publish coffee table books and provide turn key services in publishing for others, whatever be the requirement.

About our Founder

Heading the organization since its inception, the founding spirit of our Director, Navin Berry, has been the desire to work passionately and transparently with all sectors of industry, across verticals, and with all associations of industry and government.

“We have seen our role essentially as a private catalyst, to forge better information and awareness of issues and options, and to make people and industry come together and work together,” says Berry. The phenomenal success of SATTE in it’s first 18 years and since exiting that brand in our efforts with BITB Conclaves, prove the group’s ability to provide the industry a common platform for doing business.

His close rapport with industry successfully enabled him to initiate, among other industry platforms, New Delhi Hoteliers Forum, a body of professional 5-star hotel general managers; organize and conduct industry seminars and debates on issues; conduct reality checks at industry ground zero across metro cities in India.

BITB Conclaves:

Industry driven, bringing senior leadership to debate, identify issues and suggest the way forward. Across travel and tourism segments, advocating the important of tourism, hospitality, aviation, regional co-operation and promotion, we have so far held 21 editions. BITB suffered a lockdown during covid, as tourism industry discovered a total closure; thereafter, we have been up and about. We plan at least 3 to 4 events in any calendar year, across industry verticals. One important feature of these conclaves is the coming together of both government and industry, fostering a more meaningful engagement for tourism, as a whole.

Destination India Tourism Exchange (DITE):

Joining the dots in the larger tourism product, India’s oldest tourism magazine, is now essentially online, as a vehicle that provides a senior engagement, an exchange of ideas, product developments, emphasising the importance of working together in a seamless strategy, not in silos.

The magazine explores the growing clout of the Indian traveller, in domestic tourism and a growing outbound interest, which have made Indians among the fastest growing community of travellers globally. Indian travel is becoming more mature, responsible and experiential. We explore opportunities in inbound for India, the need to work in collaboration with neighbours, emphasising the importance of the power of tourism in bringing people together.

Cross Section Conversations (CSC):

A forum for bringing diverse opinions together. Increasingly focussed upon geo-political issues and concerns, our conversations range from opinion pieces, commentaries on economic, military and defence concerns. In a fast-paced world, where shifting sands dictate the need to remain alert, India needs to be strong, self-reliant, a force for global good, a true champion of the Global South.

Our team of writers are senior most professionals; among them are former diplomats, defence personnel who have served extensively in forward areas and in strategic commands, economists with proven track record in both international and national universities and in the world of commerce.

As Conversations, our essence if to highlight possibilities and suggest the importance to blend grace and dignity in dialogue, mutual respect and understanding in a broader engagement. India First is the way forward, with no dilution of nation’s goals and aspirations. Viksit Bharat is our common endeavour; how best to achieve it remains the challenge, as 2047 is not too far.

Our other Publications:

We provide turn key services that include editing, designing and printing; helping go digital with online engagement. We have published literature for state governments and for the central government. Recently, we have published a series of collector editions, which are available on Amazon.
